Orsa 2023
Weaving Performance is a project where I wove rag rugs at Orsa’s cultural center for a week. The fabric strips were donated by the residents of Orsa. Ten meters of warp were set up in Orsa’s cultural center, and over the course of a week, I wove three rugs that now hang in Orsa’s town hall. In this performance, I wanted to challenge my body by engaging in a repetitive act for a week. At the same time, I wanted to create a forum where craftsmanship and art could meet. Each strip of fabric has its own story, and all these stories are brought together in one place through the rugs.
This performance is done in collaboration with Orsa slöjdlag.
